Those of you who just signed up to the newsletter recently, I’m sorry to hit you with such a deep question for your first newsletter from me, ha! 800+ new people subscribed when I decided to give away the wallpapers for free, which is incredible!
Thank you all for giving me some space in your inbox.
I wanted to share with you an audio clip of Jordan talking in one of his University classes about the Meaning of Life. I wanted to add a little twist though. Lately, I have been utilising a Mental Model named “Inversion”. If you’d like to learn more about Inversion in-depth from a post I made recently, click here. Basically, it’s flipping a question, such as “What is the Meaning of Life” and asking the opposite. Like, “What isn’t the sole Purpose of Life?”. You might ask why this is relevant… I wanted to share a Jordan Peterson quote with you which shows you an example of Inversion:
By flipping the question on its head, you can eliminate what does not constitute to the Meaning of Life. This will help you whittle down what the actual Meaning of Life might be... According to Jordan, it isn’t Happiness; and I agree, although Happiness isn’t as useless or elusive as others make it out to be… (Let’s leave that for another day).
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the audio clip of Jordan discussing the Meaning of Life.
Do you agree with Jordan’s opinion fully? You can comment on this post with your thoughts, I’d be curious to know.
